Opening as an intimate sushi-ya on the Upper East Side in 2018, Sushi Noz has quickly garnered accolades and respect as the poster child of the Japanese culinary scene in New York. Michelin-starred in its first year and ranked a top-15 restaurant in North America by OAD in 2020 – the food and dining experience at Sushi Noz speak for themselves. The question then becomes: how does an intensely traditional dining experience, developed from customs dating to the mid 19th century, translate to social media and branding in the internet age? Since before opening night, Strange Pursuits has worked with Sushi Noz to develop a visual presence at once traditional and approachable. The Sushi Noz instagram account, for which Strange Pursuits has supplied all content, has garnered over 20k followers in two years, with zero dollars in ad spend.
